   •  Radio/Audio System Operation

Visual/Physical Inspection

Inspect for aftermarket devices which could affect the operation of the radio/audio system. Refer to Checking Aftermarket Accessories in Wiring Systems.

Inspect those system components which are easily accessible or visible for obvious damage or conditions which could cause the symptom.

Intermittent

Faulty electrical connections or wiring may cause of intermittent conditions. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems.

Refer to a symptom diagnostic procedure from the following list in order to diagnose the symptom:

    •  Radio Poor Reception
    •  Audio Preliminary Diagnosis
    •  Compact Disc Inoperative
    •  Compact Disc Skip
    •  Radio Display Inoperative, No Sound from Speakers
    •  Tape Player Diagnostic Check
    •  Tape Player Weak, Slow, or Garbled Output

    •  Steering Wheel Controls Illumination Inoperative
    •  Compact Disc General Diagnosis
    •  Radio Controls Inoperative
