Inspect the operation of the remote CD changer.

  1. Inspect the compact disc player.
  2. If an error message occurred while trying to play a CD in the compact disc player, inspect the remote CD changer for the following conditions:
  3.    Important: Extremely high internal instrument panel temperatures may cause the disc to be ejected.

    • The disc is inserted upside down.
    • The disc is dirty.
    • The disc is badly scratched.
    • The disc is wet.
    • The disc has moisture build-up. Allow an hour for the condensation to evaporate.
  4. If no obvious condition is present, use a known good disc.

  1. Inspect the disc for proper insertion.
  2. Inspect the disc for scratches.
  3. Inspect the disc for dirt or fingerprints and clean as needed.
  4. Observe the road for roughness. The condition may be normal.
  5. Duplicate the condition with a known good disc. Some discs may contain marks not readily visible.
