Stabilizer Shaft Replacement Sedan/Coupe

1. Install the engine support fixture.

•	For vehicles equipped with the 2.4L (LE5), refer to Engine Support Fixture .

•	For vehicles equipped with the 3.5L (LZ4), refer to Engine Support Fixture .

•	For vehicles equipped with the 3.6L (LY7), refer to Engine Support Fixture .

•	For vehicles equipped with the 3.9L (LZ9), refer to Engine Support Fixture .

2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
3. Remove the tires and wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
4. Disconnect the stabilizer links from the stabilizer shaft. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement .
5. Remove the stabilizer bar clamps and insulators. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Insulator Replacement .
6. Remove the catalytic convertors ( 3.5L (LZ4), 3.6L (LY7), 3.9L (LZ9).

•	For the left side catalytic convertor, refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement - Left Side .

•	For the right side catalytic convertor, refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement - Right Side .

7. Lower the frame in order to gain clearance to the stabilizer shaft. Refer to Frame Replacement .
8. Remove the stabilizer shaft through the opening between the frame and body.

1. Position the stabilizer shaft to the frame.
2. Install the stabilizer bar clamps and insulators. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Insulator Replacement .
3. Raise the frame into place. Refer to Frame Replacement
4. Remove the jack stand.
5. Connect the stabilizer link to the stabilizer bar. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement .
6. Install the catalytic convertors ( 3.5L (LZ4), 3.6L (LY7), 3.9L (LZ9).

•	For the left side catalytic convertor, refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement - Left Side .

•	For the right side catalytic convertor, refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement - Right Side .

7. Install the front tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
8. Lower the vehicle.
9. Remove the engine support fixture.

•	For vehicles equipped with the 2.4L (LE5), refer to Engine Support Fixture .

•	For vehicles equipped with the 3.5L (LZ4), refer to Engine Support Fixture .

•	For vehicles equipped with the 3.6L (LY7), refer to Engine Support Fixture .

•	For vehicles equipped with the 3.9L (LZ9), refer to Engine Support Fixture .

Stabilizer Shaft Replacement Convertible

1. Install the engine support fixture.

•	For vehicles equipped with the 3.5L (LZ4), refer to Engine Support Fixture .

•	For vehicles equipped with the 3.9L (LZ9), refer to Engine Support Fixture .

2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
3. Remove the front tires and wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
4. Remove the LH and RH reinforcements. Refer to Drivetrain and Front Suspension Frame Reinforcement Replacement .
5. Remove the catalytic convertors.

•	For the left catalytic convertor, refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement - Left Side .

•	For the right catalytic convertor, refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement - Right Side .

6. Disconnect the stabilizer links from the stabilizer shaft. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement .
7. Lower the frame in order to gain access to the stabilizer shaft. Refer to Frame Replacement .
8. Support the rear of the frame assembly with a suitable jack stand.
9. Remove the stabilizer bar clamps and insulators. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Insulator Replacement .
10. Remove the stabilizer shaft thru the opening between the frame and body.

1. Position the stabilizer shaft to the vehicle through the opening between the frame and body.
2. Install the stabilizer bar clamps and insulators. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Insulator Replacement .
3. Raise the frame into place. Refer to Frame Replacement .
4. Install the LH and RH reinforcements. Refer to Drivetrain and Front Suspension Frame Reinforcement Replacement .
5. Remove the jack stand.
6. Connect the stabilizer link to the stabilizer bar. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement .
7. Install the catalytic convertors.

•	For the left catalytic convertor, refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement - Left Side .

•	For the right catalytic convertor, refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement - Right Side .

8. Install the front tires and wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
9. Lower the vehicle.
10. Remove the engine support fixture.

•	For vehicles equipped with the 3.5L (LZ4), refer to Engine Support Fixture .

•	For vehicles equipped with the 3.9L (LZ9), refer to Engine Support Fixture .
