Did you perform the Lighting System Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  2. Open and close all of the doors.
  3. Turn the courtesy lamp switch ON and OFF.

Do the courtesy lamps operate properly?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Install a scan tool.
  3. Turn OFF the courtesy lamp switch.
  4. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  5. With a scan tool observe the Courtesy Switch parameter in the body control module (BCM) Inputs data list.

Does the scan tool display an OFF status?

Go to Step 4

With a scan tool, observe the Auxiliary Lighting parameter in the BCM Inputs data list.

Does the scan tool display an OFF status?

Go to Step 5

  1. Close all of the doors.
  2. With a scan tool observe all of the Dome/Buzzer Sw. parameters in the driver door module (DDM) Inputs data list.

Does the scan tool display an OFF status for all doors?

Go to Step 12

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the headlamp switch.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. With a scan tool, observe the Courtesy Switch parameter in the BCM Inputs data list.

Does the scan tool display an OFF status?

Go to Step 13

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR) module.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. With a scan tool observe the Auxiliary Lighting parameter in the BCM Inputs data list.

Does the scan tool display an OFF status?

Go to Step 17

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the inoperative door lock actuator.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

Does the scan tool display OFF for the inoperative door Dome/Buzzer Switch input?

Go to Step 14

Test the courtesy lamp switch signal circuit for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the courtesy lamp relay control circuit for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the inoperative door lock actuator door latch switch signal circuit for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Important:: Perform the setup procedure for the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration in Body Control System.

Replace the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System.
