Carpet Retainer Replacement Coupe

1. Disengage the tab at the hood latch release handle (left side only).
2. Pull out to disengage the retainers from the windshield garnish molding by the carpet retainer.



3. Starting at the rear, pull the carpet retainer upward to disengage the retaining clips.
4. Remove the carpet retainer (1) from the vehicle.

1. Position the rear carpet retainer  (1) aligning the retaining clips.
2. Apply pressure to assure the retainers lock into place at all locations.
3. Press in on the windshield garnish mold to engage its retainers.
4. Engage the tab at the hood latch release handle (left side only). Ensure that the unit is retained.

Carpet Retainer Replacement Sedan

1. Remove the rear quarter lower trim panel. Refer to Rear Quarter Lower Trim Panel Replacement .
2. Remove the center pillar upper trim panel. Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement .
3. Remove the windshield garnish molding at the bottom.
4. Pull up on the carpet retainer (1) to disengage the fasteners.
5. Remove the carpet retainer (1) from the vehicle.

1. Position the carpet retainer (1) in the vehicle.
2. Press down on the carpet retainer (1) until fasteners are fully engaged.
3. Install the windshield garnish molding at the bottom.
4. Install the center pillar upper trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement .
5. Install the rear quarter trim lower panel. Refer to Rear Quarter Lower Trim Panel Replacement
