J 45059 Torque Angle Meter

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement .
  2. Remove the exhaust manifold. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Replacement .
  3. Remove the timing chain. Refer to Camshaft Timing Chain, Sprocket, and Tensioner Replacement .
  4. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

  5. Object Number: 465863  Size: SH
  6. Remove the cylinder head bolts in sequence and discard.

  7. Object Number: 412427  Size: SH
  8. Remove the cylinder head and gasket.
  9. Clean all gasket surfaces.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 412427  Size: SH
  1. Install the cylinder head and gasket.
  2. Install NEW cylinder head bolts.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Tighten the cylinder head bolts in sequence.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the cylinder head bolts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft) plus 155 degrees using J 45059 .

  6. Install the NEW front cylinder head bolts.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the front cylinder head bolts to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

  8. Install the timing chain. Refer to Camshaft Timing Chain, Sprocket, and Tensioner Replacement .
  9. Install the exhaust manifold. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Replacement .
  10. Lower the vehicle.
  11. Install the intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement .
  12. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
