Did you perform the keyless entry diagnostic system check?

  1. Remove the key from the ignition key lock cylinder.
  2. Close all of the vehicle doors.
  3. While observing the door locks, press LOCK, then press UNLOCK on the driver door lock switch.
  4. While observing the door locks, press LOCK, then press UNLOCK on the driver door lock switch.

Do all of the doors lock and unlock when using both door lock switch?

Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect the remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR).
  2. Using a test lamp, connect between the RCDLR harness connector terminal A and terminal C. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Did the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 5

Test for a poor connector terminal contact at the RCDLR. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 10

Using a test lamp, connect between the RCDLR harness connector terminal C and ground.

Did the test lamp illuminate?

--

Go to Step 6

Repair a poor connection or an open in circuit 1550. Refer to Wiring Repairs or Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Repair a poor connection or an open in circuit 640. Refer to Wiring Repairs or Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Perform the keyless entry transmitter test. Refer to Transmitter Test .
  2. Test the keyless entry system.

Did the keyless entry system operate normally?

System OK

Go to Step 9

Important: Perform the RCDLR programming procedure when replacing the RCDLR. Refer to Transmitter Programming .

Replace the RCDLR. Refer to Receiver Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 10

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
