Makes 🢒 Pontiac 🢒 2005 🢒 Grand Prix 🢒 Body 🢒 Doors 🢒 Rear Side Door Outside Handle Rod Adjustment

Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the rear door trim pad. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Remove the rear door water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .

    3. The water deflector does not need to be completely removed.

  3. Raise the window to the full upright position.

  4. Open the outside handle rod to lock clip located on the door lock.
  5. Remove the outside door handle to the door. Refer to Front Side Door Outside Handle Replacement

Installation Procedure
  1. Install the outside door handle to the door lock . Refer to Front Side Door Outside Handle Replacement

    2. Object Number: 800969 Size: SH

    Important: The outside handles have adjustable outside handle lock rods. This allows for adjustment of the amount of travel needed in order to operate the outside handle.

    When servicing a vehicle with adjustable outside handle lock rods, remove all free play between the outside handle and the lock. Also, do not operate the outside handle before these connections are made.

  2. Install the outside handle rod into the clip.
  3. Close the clip cover over the outside handle rod.
  4. Inspect the door for proper operation.
  5. Remove the rear door water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  6. Remove the rear door trim pad. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
