Removal Procedure

    Notice: To avoid paint damage, protect the area surrounding the part which you are removing or installing.

  1. Apply masking tape to the outer applique and frame.
  2. Remove the rear door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  3. Remove the rear door water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  4. Remove the rear door window inner belt sealing strip. Refer to Rear Door Window Belt Inner Sealing Strip Replacement .
  5. Raise the window far enough in order to gain access to the bolts (2) that attach the window to the regulator.
  6. Remove the bolts (2) that attach the window to the regulator.
  7. Remove the window (1) from the door.

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the window (1) in between the inner and the outer panels.
  2. 1.1. Point the lower front corner of the rear door window down.
    1.2. Pass the rear door window through the belt opening.
    1.3. Align the edges of the window with the rear door window weatherstrip.
    1.4. Ensure that both sealing lips on the rear door outer belt sealing strip are not rolled over and pointing downward.

    If this condition is present, the rear door window will not raise properly.

  3. Raise the window (1) far enough to gain access to the bolts (2) that attach the window to the regulator.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the forward window guide channel bolts (2) that attach the window to the regulator.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  7. Install the rearward window guide channel bolts (2) that attach the window to the regulator.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  9. Remove the masking tape.
  10. Inspect the window for proper operation.
  11. Install the rear door window inner belt sealing strip. Refer to Rear Door Window Belt Inner Sealing Strip Replacement .
  12. Install the rear door water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  13. Install the rear door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
