Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 794027  Size: SH

    Notice: To avoid paint damage, protect the area surrounding the part which you are removing or installing.

  1. Apply masking tape to the door frame and appqlique.
  2. Remove the rear door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  3. Lower the window to the full down position.
  4. Important: Lift upward on the sealing strip at the front edge of the rear door stationary window to prevent damage to the sealing strip.

  5. Remove the outer belt sealing strip screw (2).
  6. Remove the outer belt sealing strip (1) from the door.

Installation Procedure

    Important: Align the strip properly to the door inner panel for screw installation.

  1. Install the outer belt sealing strip (2) to the door
  2. Press the outer belt sealing strip firmly onto the pinch-weld flange.

  3. Lower the window to the full down position.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the outer belt sealing strip screw (1).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  7. Remove the masking tape.
  8. Inspect the window for proper operation.
  9. Install the rear door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
