Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 318869  Size: SH
  1. Remove the rear compartment lid. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Replacement .
  2. Remove the rear compartment lid struts. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Strut Replacement .
  3. Use a grease pencil to mark the hinge to the quarter panel for the location at installation.
  4. Remove the bolts from hinge at the quarter panel.
  5. Remove the hinge.

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the hinge to the alignment marks on the quarter panel.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the hinge to rear quarter bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the rear compartment hinge to rear quarter bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  5. Install the rear compartment struts. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Strut Replacement .
  6. Install the rear compartment lid. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Replacement .

  7. Object Number: 318871  Size: SH
  8. Adjust the rear compartment lid height adjustment by using a wrench on the rear compartment hinge height adjustment bolt.
  9. Adjust the rear compartment lid height adjustment by turning the rear compartment lid bumper by hand.
  10. Close the rear compartment.
