Removal Procedure

    Important: In order to minimize door realignment, do not remove both door hinges at the same time. Do each hinge separately, and replace any broken hinges first.

  1. Open both doors.

    2. Object Number: 656127 Size: SH
  2. Support the door.
  3. Remove the intermediate door hinge bolts (1).
  4. Use a rag in order to clean the hinge mounting surfaces on the door.
  5. Use a grease pencil or other suitable marker in order to mark the hinge location on the door surface.
  6. Remove the door side hinge bolts (2).
  7. Remove the hinge half.

  8. Use a rag in order to clean the hinge mounting surface on the body pillar.
  9. Use a grease pencil or other suitable marker in order to mark the hinge location on the body pillar.

    10. Important: Do not loosen the cone adjuster bolt (2). The cone may fall down inside the pillar. This may create a rattle situation.

  10. Remove the two 13 mm body side hinge bolts (1).
  11. Remove the body side hinge.

Installation Procedure
  1. Align the new hinge in position with the old alignment marks.

    2. Object Number: 295133 Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  2. Install the door side hinge bolts.

    3. Lightly tighten the bolts.

  3. Align the new body side hinge in position with the old alignment marks.
  4. Install the 13 mm body side hinge bolts.

    5. Lightly tighten the bolts.


    Object Number: 656127 Size: SH
  5. Position the door to install the intermediate bolts.
  6. Install the intermediate door hinge bolts (1).

    7. Tighten

    • Tighten the intermediate door hinge bolts to 33 N·m (24 lb ft).
    • Tighten the body side and door side hinge bolts to 33 N·m (24 lb ft).
  7. Remove the door support.
  8. Adjust the door. Refer to Rear Door Adjustment .
  9. Close the door.
