Preliminary Procedures

1. Place the folding top in the service position. Refer to Folding Top Retainer Strap Installation Position .
2. Remove the lock pillar upper garnish molding. Refer to Lock Pillar Upper Garnish Molding Replacement .

Procedure

1. Place a suitable container under the hydraulic cylinder lines before disconnecting.
2. Release the hydraulic pump pressure. Refer to Folding Top Pump Bypass Valve Pressure Release Adjustment .
3. Use a small flat-bladed tool to lift the retainer spring flex clip.
4. Do not reuse spring flex clip. Replace spring flex clip after disassembly.
5. Before disconnecting the cylinder hoses, have the replacement cylinder ready.
6. Once the cylinder hose or the port plug has been removed, DO NOT move the cylinder rod. This will cause fluid to squirt out of the ports.
7. Install a new O-ring onto the cylinder hose.
8. Install the hose into the cylinder port. Press down on the hose until the hose is fully seated in the cylinder.
9. Install a new cylinder hose retainer clip. Inspect the retainer clip to ensure that the clip is fully seated around the hose.
10. After repairs, tighten the hydraulic pump bypass valve. Refer to Folding Top Pump Bypass Valve Pressure Release Adjustment .
11. Inspect the fluid level and add fluid as needed. Refer to Folding Top Fluid Addition .
12. Inspect the folding top for proper operation.
