Does the system operate normally?

  1. Disconnect the adjustable pedal motor connector.
  2. Connect a test lamp between the control circuit terminals in the harness connector.
  3. Operate the adjustable pedal switch in both directions.

Does the test lamp illuminate when the switch is operated in both directions?

  1. Disconnect the adjustable pedal module connector.
  2. Connect a jumper wire from the adjustable pedal enable circuit terminal in the harness connector to ground.
  3. Operate the adjustable pedal switch in both directions.

Does the test lamp illuminate when the switch is operated in both directions?

  1. Disconnect the adjustable pedal switch connector.
  2. Connect a test lamp from the battery voltage supply circuit terminal in the harness connector to a good ground.

Test the adjustable pedal motor control circuits for an open or short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and to Wiring Repairs .

  1. Disconnect the adjustable pedal module connector.
  2. Connect a test lamp from the battery voltage supply circuit terminal in the harness connector to a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Connect a test lamp from the battery voltage supply circuit terminal to the ground circuit terminal in the adjustable pedal module harness connector.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Test the resistance through the brake pedal position sensor from the 5-volt reference circuit terminal to the low reference circuit terminal in the adjustable pedal module harness connector.

Is the resistance at or near the specified value?

10K ohms

  1. Connect a jumper wire from the adjustable pedal enable circuit terminal in the adjustable pedal module harness connector to ground.
  2. Test the resistance through the brake pedal position sensor from the signal circuit terminal to the low reference circuit terminal in the adjustable pedal module harness connector.
  3. Operate the adjustable pedals from stop to stop.

Does the resistance remain within the specified values?

0-10K ohms

  1. Connect the adjustable pedal module and adjuster motor connectors.
  2. Disconnect the body control module (BCM) connector C2.
  3. Operate the adjustable switch in both directions.

Do the adjustable pedals operate while the BCM connector C2 is disconnected?

Test the brake pedal position sensor 5-volt reference and low reference circuits for opens or shorts to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and to Wiring Repairs .
