Rear Compartment Lid Replacement Convertible

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 330642  Size: SH
  1. Raise and support the lid panel (2) and remove the plastic cap.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  3. Remove the struts at the rear compartment lid panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Lift Window Strut Replacement .
  4. Remove the adjustment bumper bolt.
  5. Remove the bolts (5).
  6. Important: If you are replacing the rear compartment lid panel, remove the spoiler and harness. Refer to Rear Spoiler Replacement .

  7. Remove the lid panel (2).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the lid panel (2).
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  5. Install the adjustment bumper bolt (5).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the adjustment bumper bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  7. Install the struts at the rear compartment lid panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Lift Window Strut Replacement .
  8. Connect the electrical connector.
  9. Install the plastic cap.
  10. Perform the following adjustments as needed on the rear compartment lid (2):
  11. • Fore or aft
    • Side to side
    • Front height
  12. Loosen or tighten the bumpers as needed.
