Did you review the system operation and perform the necessary inspections?

  1. Turn the ignition to the RUN position.
  2. Attempt to operate the unlock function on both doors.
  3. Verify that the unlock function does not operate properly on one of the doors.

Does the unlock function operate normally on both doors?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. Connect a DMM between the inoperative door lock switch connector terminal D and ground. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.
  2. While observing the DMM, move the inoperative door lock switch to the unlock position.

Is there continuity?

Go to Step 4

Repair the open in circuit 781 between the inoperative door lock switch and S268. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 7

Test for and repair a poor connection at the inoperative door lock switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and repair a poor connection?

Replace the door lock switch. Refer to Door Lock Switch Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
