Removal Procedure
- Remove the body hinge pillar trim panel. Refer to Body Hinge Pillar Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
- Remove the windshield side upper garnish molding (1). Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement in Interior Trim.
- Remove the cargo area side trim panel. Refer to Cargo Area Side Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
- Remove the roof lift off window (if equipped).
- Remove the lift window body side weatherstrip screws, if equipped.
- Remove the side door weatherstrip retainers.
- Remove the side door weatherstrip by pulling the weatherstrip from the flange and the weatherstrip body retainers.
Installation Procedure
- Install the side door weatherstrip by pressing the weatherstrip into the flange and the weatherstrip body retainers.
- Install the side door weatherstrip retainers.
- Install the lift window body side weatherstrip screws (2), if equipped.
- Install the roof lift off window (if equipped).
- Install the cargo area side trim panel. Refer to Cargo Area Side Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
- Install the windshield side upper garnish molding. Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement in Interior Trim.
- Install the body hinge pillar trim panel. Refer to Body Hinge Pillar Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the lift window body side weatherstrip screws to 7 N·m
(62 lb in).
