Headlamp Bracket Replacement Chevrolet

1. Open the hood. Install the fender covers.
2. Disconnect battery.
3. Disconnect electrical connections to headlamps.



4. Remove the headlamp bracket bolts (3, 5, 6), bracket nut (2), and the headlamp bracket brace (4) from the headlamp bracket (7).
5. Remove the headlamp bracket (7) from mounting bracket studs (1).

1. Install the headlamp bracket (7) to the vehicle radiator support (1).

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

2. Install the headlamp bracket bolts (3, 5, 6), bracket nut (2), and the headlamp bracket brace (4) to the headlamp bracket (7).

Tighten
Tighten the bolts (3, 5, 6) and nut (2) to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

3. Connect electrical connection to headlamps.
4. Connect battery.
5. Remove fender covers and close hood.
6. Install the headlamp assembly. Refer to Headlamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
7. Install the front bumper support and support bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

8. Install the front fascia bumper. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement in Bumpers.
9. Verify headlamp alignment and projection.

Headlamp Bracket Replacement Pontiac

1. Open hood. Install fender covers.
2. Remove screws (9) from rear of headlamp door.
3. Remove manual crank cover (4) and manually raise headlamp doors.
4. Remove screws (6) from headlamp bezel (7) and remove bezel.
5. Remove headlamp door front screws (8) and remove door.
6. Remove bolts/nuts (6) from attaching headlamp bracket.
7. Remove bolts/nuts (1) from center impact bar support.
8. Reposition center impact bar (2) and partially remove headlamp assembly.
9. Disconnect electrical connection (3) from headlamp assembly and remove headlamp assembly.

1. Connect electrical connection (3) to headlamp assembly.
2. Reposition center impact bar (2) and install headlamp assembly.

3. Install bolts/nuts to center impact bar support (2).

Tighten
Tighten the headlamp bracket bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

4. Install bolts/nuts to attaching headlamp bracket (5).

Tighten
Tighten the nuts/bolts from the bracket brace to 7 N·m (62 lb in).

5. Install headlamp door and install headlamp door front screws (8).
6. Install headlamp bezel (7) and install bezel screws (6).
7. Manually lower crank cover (4).
8. Install screws to rear of headlight door (9).
9. Verify headlamp alignment and projection.
10. Verify headlamp door operation.
11. Remove fender covers and close hood.
