Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 506469  Size: SH
  1. Remove the headlamp assembly. Refer to Headlamp Replacement .
  2. Disconnect the headlamp wiring harness electrical connectors from the headlamp bulbs (5).
  3. Important: Take note of the linkage to motor relationship for reassembly.

    Remove the nut (3) retaining the headlamp assembly pivot arm (4) to the headlamp motor/actuator (1).

  4. Remove the bolts (2) mounting the motor to the headlamp assembly.
  5. Remove the headlamp motor/actuator.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the motor/actuator into position on the headlamp assembly.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the headlamp motor/actuator bolts to the headlamp assembly.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the headlamp motor/actuator bolts to 7 N·m (62 lb in).

  5. Install the pivot arm (4) with retaining nut (3) to the headlamp motor/actuator (1).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the headlamp motor/actuator to pivot arm nut to 56 N·m (50 lb in).

  7. Install the headlamp assembly to the vehicle. Refer to Headlamp Replacement .
  8. Connect the headlamp wiring harness (5) electrical connectors to the headlamp bolts.
