Liftgate Latch Striker Replacement Aztek

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 621895  Size: SH
  1. Open the liftgate.
  2. Remove the lower liftgate trim panel. Refer to Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement .
  3. Remove the bolts from the liftgate strikers.

  4. Object Number: 621896  Size: SH
  5. Remove the liftgate strikers from the liftgate.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 621896  Size: SH
  1. Install the liftgate strikers to the liftgate.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the bolts to the liftgate strikers.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the liftgate striker bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in)

  5. Install the lower liftgate trim panel. Refer to Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement .
  6. Close the liftgate.

Removal Procedure

  1. Open the liftgate.

  2. Object Number: 754960  Size: SH
  3. Remove screws from liftgate striker.
  4. Remove liftgate striker and spacer from vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 754960  Size: SH
  1. Align spacer and liftgate striker to holes in body.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the liftgate striker bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the liftgate striker retaining bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  5. Close the liftgate.
