Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement Aztek

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 624452  Size: SH
  1. Open the liftgate.
  2. Remove the lower liftgate trim panel sides by pulling the left and right sides from the liftgate frame.
  3. Remove the lower liftgate trim panel from the pinch-weld flange by pulling up from the pinch-weld flange.
  4. Remove the lower liftgate trim panel from the vehicle.

  6. Remove the upper liftgate trim panel sides by pulling the left and right sides from the liftgate frame.
  7. Remove the upper liftgate trim panel from the pinch-weld flange by pulling up from the pinch-weld flange.
  8. Remove the upper liftgate trim panel from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 624443  Size: SH
  1. Install the upper liftgate trim panel to the liftgate by pressing down until fully seated.
  2. Position the defogger harness to the cutout in the upper trim panel.
  3. Install the right and the left side upper trim panel by pressing in until seated.

  4. Object Number: 624452  Size: SH
  5. Install the lower trim panels. Press down on the panels until fully seated.
  6. Install the right and left sides of the lower trim panels, pressing in until fully seated.
  7. Close the liftgate.

Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement Rendezvous

J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the liftgate.

  2. Object Number: 776436  Size: SH
  3. Remove the access trim panel from the liftgate.
  4. Remove 2 screws from the bottom of the trim panel.
  5. Use J 38778 to disengage the fasteners from the trim panel.
  6. Remove the trim panel.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 776436  Size: SH
  1. Install the trim panel to the liftgate.
  2. Important: Discard the old trim panel fasteners. Install new fasteners.

  3. Install new fasteners to the trim panel.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the screws to the bottom of the trim panel.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  7. Install the access trim panel to the liftgate.
  8. Close the liftgate.
