Rear Axle Lower Control Arm Replacement IRS

Tools Required

J 41820 Ball Joint/Stud Separator

1. Remove the coil spring. Refer to Coil Spring Replacement .



2. Make a mark on the lower control arm at the cam indicator (1) .



3. Remove the lower control arm to crossmember mounting bolts (1, 5) .
4. Remove the lower control arm.

1. Install the lower control arm to the crossmember.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.




2. Install the bolts (5) and the nuts (4) to the lower control arm.

Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

3. Install the cam bolt (1) and the cam washer (2) to the lower control arm.

Important: Align the cam indicator to the mark on the lower control arm.

4. Install the cam nut (3) to the lower control arm.

Tighten
Tighten the cam nut to 145 N·m (107 lb ft).

5. Install the coil spring. Refer to Coil Spring Replacement .
