  1. Inspect that the power mirror switch is in either the LEFT, RIGHT, or OFF position. If the switch is in between these positions, the switch may create an indeterminate state for the memory seat/mirror module. This causes all the memory functions to become inoperative.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  3. Ground the memory seat diagnostic connector.
  4. • The connector may be taped up into the body harness.
    • The module beeps once in order to acknowledge entrance into the mode 1 diagnostics.
    • Refer to Memory Seat Operation in Seats for a detailed explanation of the memory seat/mirror module diagnostic modes.
  5. Operate the DRIVER-1 and DRIVER-2 recall buttons and the memory set button on the left front seat switch. (The module beeps once for each received switch input.)
  6. Any time a switch is operated and the module does not beep, the module did not receive an input from that switch.

Is there any switch operations where the memory seat/mirror did not beep?

  1. Remove ground from the memory seat diagnostic connector, then ground the connector again within 5 seconds.
  2. • The module beeps twice in order to acknowledge entrance into the mode 2 diagnostics.
    • See Circuit Operation for a detailed explanation of the memory seat/mirror module diagnostic modes.
  3. Operate the seat switch and the mirror switch in all directions. (The module beeps once for each open or short circuit to a position sensor or any position sensor discontinuity.)
  4. Any time a switch is operated and the module beeps, the module senses a problem with the position sensor.

Is there any switch operations where the memory seat/mirror module beeped?
