Was the entire Backup Lights System Check performed?

  1. Disconnect the suspect backup lamp connector.
  2. Connect a DMM from the suspect backup lamp connector cavity A (LT GRN) to ground.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  4. Place the gear selector lever in the REVERSE position.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Connect a DMM from the suspect backup lamp connector cavity A (LT GRN) to cavity G (BLK).

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Replace the suspect backup lamp.

Repair the open in CKT 24 (LT GRN) between S406 and the suspect backup lamp. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the open in CKT 1350 (BLK) between S404 and the suspect backup lamp. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
