Was the audible warnings diagnostic system check performed?

  1. Disconnect the body control module (BCM) connector C2 terminal 12.
  2. Remove the ignition key from the ignition switch.
  3. Measure the resistance between terminal B12 of the BCM harness connector C2 and ground.

Is the resistance equal to the specified value?

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 4

Replace the BCM. Refer to the following procedures:

    •  Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System
    •  Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration in Body Control System

Is the repair complete?

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Audible Warnings

  1. Disconnect the ignition switch connector C1 terminal D.
  2. Remove the ignition key from the ignition switch.
  3. Measure the resistance between terminal D of the ignition switch connector C1 and ground.

Is the resistance equal to the specified value?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 6

Replace the ignition cylinder. Refer to Ignition and Start Switch Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Repair a short to ground between terminal B12 of BCM connector C2 and terminal D of ignition switch connector C1. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
