For 1990-2009 cars only
  1. Visually inspect the following fuses:
  2. • The BCM BATT fuse
    • The IPC/BFC ACC fuse
    • The A/C BFC fuse
    • The INT LPS fuse
    • The CRUISE fuse
  3. Diagnose the seat belt indicator. Refer to Diagnostic System Check - Instrument Cluster .
  4. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System in order to access the Body Control Module (BCM).
  5. If the headlamps ON chime does not sound with the headlamp switch in the PARK position or the HEAD position, inspect for an open in CKT 9 between the right IP junction block and the BCM.
  6. If no open exists in CKT 9 between the right IP junction block and the BCM, replace the BCM.
  7. If the check-gauges chime sounds continuously, inspect the following indicators:
  8. • The oil pressure indicator
    • The engine coolant temperature indicator
    • The low fuel indicator
    • The BRAKE indicator
    • The SERVICE VEHICLE SOON indicator
    • The CHECK OIL indicator
    • The volts indicator
    • The LOW WASHER indicator
    • The low coolant indicator
    • The all doors are closed indicator
  9. Replace the BCM if no indicators are illuminated. Refer to the following procedures:
  10. •  Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System
    •  Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration in Body Control System
  11. Inspect for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation.
  12. A broken wire inside of the insulation may cause a system failure, but prove GOOD in a continuity/voltage test.

  13. Inspect for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment.
  14. Improper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment may affect the integrity of other systems.
