Preliminary Procedures

  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  2. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
  3. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  5. Remove the lower air deflector. Refer to Radiator Air Baffle Assemblies and Deflectors .
  6. If replacing the A/C compressor, refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Oil Balancing .

A/C Compressor Hose Nut

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

Tighten
16 N·m (12 lb ft)

A/C Compressor and Condenser Hose Nut

Tighten
22 N·m (16 lb ft)

Sealing Washer (Qty: 2)

Tip
Remove and discard sealing washers. Refer to Sealing Washer Replacement .

A/C Compressor Bolt (Qty: 3)

Tighten
50 N·m (37 lb ft)

Tighten

Tighten
22 N·m (16 lb ft)

Sealing Washer (Qty: 2)

Tip

Tighten
50 N·m (37 lb ft)
