Circuit Description

The all-wheel drive (AWD) disable indicator lamp is located in the instrument panel cluster (IPC). Ignition 1 voltage is supplied to the IPC when the ignition switch is in the START or RUN position. When the PCM receives a signal from the differential clutch pump actuator check valve, indicating an overtemp condition, or a signal from the ABS controller indicating a speed differential between wheels, the AWD system is disabled. The PCM then sends a class 2 signal to the IPC, illuminating the AWD disable indicator.
