Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 547986 Size: SH
  1. Remove the inside door handle bezel. Refer to Door Inside Handle Bezel Replacement .
  2. Remove the armrest cover plate.
    3. 2.1. Insert a small flat-bladed tool into the rectangular hole until it bottoms out.
    2.2. Tilt the tool forward in order to release the locking tab.
    2.3. Lift the forward edge of the plate up.
    2.4. Slide the plate forward in order to remove.

  3. Remove the fasteners (3) from the armrest.
  4. Remove the courtesy lamp assembly (5).
  5. Remove the fastener from behind the lamp assembly (4).
  6. Remove the push-in retainer from the defroster duct.

  7. Lift straight up on the trim panel in order to disengage the hooks on the backside of the panel.
  8. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  9. Remove the door trim panel.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 539848 Size: SH
  1. Connect the electrical connectors.
  2. Install the clips (1) on the electrical harness to the front door control module (2).

    3. Object Number: 258918 Size: MH
  3. Engage the lower hooks on the door trim panel into the slots in the door.
  4. Align the remaining hooks to the slots in the door.
  5. Push the door trim panel downwards in order to fully seat the hooks into the door.
  6. Ensure that the door trim panel is fully seated prior to fastener installation.

  7. Install the push-in retainer (1) in the defroster duct.

    8. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  8. Install the fastener (4) in the courtesy lamp opening.

    9. Tighten
    Tighten the fastener to 0.6 N·m (5 lb in).

  9. Install the courtesy lamp assembly (5).
  10. Install the fasteners (3) in the armrest.

    11. Tighten
    Tighten the 2 fasteners to 0.6 N·m (5 lb in).

  11. Install the armrest cover plate (2).
    12. 11.1. Insert the rear retainer tabs into the slot in the armrest pull cup.
    11.2. Snap the front edge down into the hole.
  12. Install the inside door handle bezel. Refer to Door Inside Handle Bezel Replacement .
