Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Inspect the clutch pedal height (4). If the clutch pedal height is not within 138.4-148.4 mm (5.45-5.84 in), adjust the clutch pedal. Use the following procedure:
| 1.2. | Turn the stopper bolt until the clutch pedal height is within 131.6-141.6 mm (5.18-5.57 in). |
| 1.3. | Tighten the locknut. |
Tighten
Tighten the locknut to 13 N·m (115 lb in).
- Inspect the clutch pedal free play (3). If the clutch pedal free play is not within 5.0-15.0 mm (0.197-0.591 in), adjust the clutch pedal free play. Use the following procedure:
| 2.1. | Depress the clutch pedal until resistance is felt. |
| 2.3. | Turn the pushrod until the free play is within 5.0-15.0 mm (0.197-0.591 in). |
| 2.4. | Tighten the locknut. |
