When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.

Condition/Concern:

The following may occur after a major engine repair or partial engine assembly replacement:

  1. Rough idle or idle stall.
  2. May continue to run off idle
  3. O2 readings indicating an extremely lean fuel condition.
  4. MIL may illuminate with various DTCs setting.

Recommendation/Instructions:

  1. Check the underhood emission label for the correct evap hose routing.
  2. Typically the vent solenoid and purge solenoid hoses are swapped causing the above conditions after major engine repairs.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance. This diagnostic approach was developed for the vehicle with the VIN you entered and should not be automatically be used for other vehicles with similar symptoms.
