Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement
  2. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling
  3. Remove the air cleaner cap with hose.
  4. Remove the air cleaner case.

    5. Object Number: 2016551 Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector (1).

    6. Object Number: 2016558 Size: SH
  6. Remove the engine coolant temperature sensor (1) and gasket (2).

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 2016558 Size: SH
  1. Install the engine coolant temperature sensor (1) through a new gasket (2) and tighten to 20 N·m (14 lb ft).

    2. Object Number: 2016551 Size: SH
  2. Connect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector (1).
  3. Install the air cleaner case.
  4. Install the air cleaner cap with hose.
  5. Add engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling.
  6. Inspect for coolant leak.
  7. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement.
