When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.

SERVICE VME

This is a service VME for all Chevrolet, Olds and Pontiac dealers regarding Venture, Silhouette and Montana. Some customers may complain of a noise from under the body that sounds like a slosh or clunk. This usually occurs on starts or stops with more than half a tank of gas. The noise is caused by the movement of fuel inside of the fuel tank and is normal. The tank is blow molded plastic and does not have internal baffles. There are five closed cell form insulation pads on top of the tank, which insulates it from the body, but some sound will still be transmitted. Recent parts returns have shown some dealers are trying to correct this noise by replacing the tank. This will not work. The noise is normal.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance. This diagnostic approach was developed for the vehicle with the VIN you entered and should not be automatically be used for other vehicles with similar symptoms.
