Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 156937  Size: SH
  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting and Jacking in General Information.
  2. Remove the tire and the wheel. Refer to Wheel Removal in Tires and Wheels.
  3. Remove the strut from the vehicle. Refer to Strut, Strut Component, and Spring Replacement in Front Suspension.
  4. Place the strut in a vise and file the hole laterally (oblong).
  5. Lower the strut-to-knuckle attaching hole for camber adjustment.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the strut to the vehicle. Refer to Strut, Strut Component, and Spring Replacement in Front Suspension.
  2. Tighten the strut-to-knuckle bolts in order to allow movement of the knuckle.
  3. Install the tire and the wheel. Refer to Wheel Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  4. Adjust the camber.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the strut-to-knuckle bolts/screws to 123 N·m (90 lb ft).

  6. Lower the vehicle.
