WHEEL LOCK INFORMATION TWO TYPES OF LOCKS

IT IS POSSIBLE THAT SOME CUSTOMERS ARE NOT RECEIVING OR ARE NOT BEING MADE AWARE OF THE WHEEL LOCKING AND KEY INFORMATION AT THE TIME OF DELIVERY. TWO TYPES OF LOCKS ARE BEING USED, ONE FOR WIRE WHEEL COVERS AND ONE FOR STYLED WHEELS. THESE LOCK PACKAGES ARE PLACED IN THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME IT IS SHIPPED TO THE DEALER. SPECIAL ATTENTION SHOULD BE GIVEN TO ASSURE THAT THE KEY AND REGISTRATION CARDS BE PLACED IN THE VEHICLE FOR THE CUSTOMER AND THAT THEY BE MADE AWARE OF THEIR IMPORTANCE. THE REGISTRATION CARD SHOULD NOT BE CONFUSED WITH THE WARRANTY/ IDENTIFICATION CARD WHICH IS ATTACHED TO IT. THE REGISTRATION CARD IS TO BE MAILED IN BY THE OWNER SINCE IT PROVIDES THE WHEEL LOCK COMPANY WITH A RECORD OF THE OWNER'S WHEEL LOCK NUMBER. THE WARRANTY/ IDENTIFICATION CARD IS RETAINED BY THE OWNER AND PROVIDES LOST KEY ORDERING INFORMATION SHOULD HE/SHE NEED ANOTHER WHEEL LOCK. THE FOLLOWING ILLUSTRATIONS ARE TYPICAL WHEEL LOCK INFORMATION. CAUTION: WHEEL LOCKING NUTS ARE NOT DESIGNED FOR USE WITH IMPACT WRENCHES.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
