  1. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct.
  2. Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  3. Disconnect the battery cables and remove the battery. Refer to Battery Replacement in Engine Mechanical.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 13340 Size: MH

Important: Ensure that the slide pin is properly located into the bracket hole.

  1. Slide the pin, part of air cleaner assembly, into the bracket hole on the left strut tower.
  2. Important: Verify full engagement of the inlet onto the resonator neck and no contact of the air cleaner to the strut tower.

  3. Position and install the air cleaner inlet over the resonator neck.
  4. Install the push in retainer from the air cleaner to the battery tray.
  5. Install the relay center and the push in retainer.
  6. Connect the relay battery feed cable into the upper air cleaner cover retaining clips.
  7. Install the battery, refer to Battery Replacement and connect the battery cables.
  8. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  9. Connect the air cleaner outlet duct.
  10. Tighten
Tighten the air cleaner outlet duct clamps to 5 N·m (44 lb in).
