Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 165423 Size: SH
  1. Remove the rear window panel trim. Refer to Rear Window Shelf Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  2. Remove the rear seat belt retractor anchor bolt.
  3. Remove the rear seat retractor bolt (1).
  4. Remove the rear seat belt retractor.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 165423 Size: SH
  1. Install the rear seat belt retractor to the rear shelf and the floor pan.

    2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  2. Install the rear seat belt retractor bolt (1).

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 28 N·m (21 lb ft).

  3. Install the rear seat belt retractor anchor bolt .

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 48 N·m (35 lb ft).

  4. Install the rear window panel trim. Refer to Rear Window Shelf Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  5. Check the rear seat retractor belt for proper operation.
