Air Distributor Duct Replacement Chevrolet

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the I/P trim pad. Refer to Instrument Panel Trim Pad Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.

  2. Object Number: 648696  Size: SH
  3. Remove the air distribution duct screws.
  4. Remove the air distribution duct.
  5. Remove the right side air distribution duct.

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the air distribution duct through the dash braces.
  2. Install the air distribution duct and connect to the right side duct.

  3. Object Number: 648696  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the air distribution duct screws.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  6. Install the I/P trim pad. Refer to Instrument Panel Trim Pad Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the I/P trim pad. Refer to Instrument Panel Trim Pad Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.

  2. Object Number: 648692  Size: SH
  3. Remove the air distribution duct screws.
  4. Remove the air distribution duct.
  5. Remove the right side air distribution duct.

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the air distribution duct through the dash braces.
  2. Move the duct until the lock tabs lock in position.
  3. Install the air distribution duct and connect to the right side duct.

  4. Object Number: 648692  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure.
