Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 643424  Size: SH
  1. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct from the air cleaner and resonator.
  2. Remove the ignition control module (ICM) electrical connectors (1) and spark plug wires (2).
  3. Remove the ignition coils bolts for the affected coil.
  4. Remove the ignition coil.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the ignition coil.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the ignition coils bolts (3) to 4 N·m (35 lb in).

  3. Reinstall the spark plug wires (2) and ICM electrical connectors (1).
  4. Reinstall the air cleaner outlet duct to the air cleaner and resonator.
