Removal Procedure
- Remove the radiator cap.
- Start the engine.
- Operate the engine for 15 minutes.
- Stop the engine.
- Open the drain plug (3) on the radiator in order to drain the coolant into a container.
- Loosen and reposition one hose clamp (1) at the intake manifold end and one hose clamp (1) at the coolant intake pipe end of the coolant bypass hose.
- Remove the coolant bypass hose from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Position a new hose clamp (1) on each end of the coolant bypass hose.
- Install the coolant bypass hose to the vehicle.
- Position the bypass hose over the coolant intake pipe (5) and the intake manifold flares.
- Secure with the two coolant bypass hose clamps.
- Fill the radiator with an approved coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in this section.
