Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 167709 Size: SH
  1. Install the radiator into the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Secure the radiator with the four bolts.
  4. Tighten
Tighten the radiator bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Install the overflow hose to the radiator filler neck. Secure with a hose clamp after positioning the hose over the filler neck flares.
  6. Install the radiator inlet hose (5) to the radiator (1). Secure with a hose clamp after positioning the hose over the radiator flares.
  7. Reposition the shroud (2) on the radiator. Secure with the two bolts.
  8. Tighten
Tighten the shroud bolts to 11 N·m (97 lb in).

  9. Reposition the A/C flexible hose (4) to the top of the shroud (2) (if equipped). Secure with the two bolts.
  10. Tighten
Tighten the air conditioning flexible hose bolts to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

  11. Reposition the power steering fluid reservoir (if equipped). Secure with the two bolts.
  12. Tighten
Tighten the power steering fluid reservoir bolts to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

  13. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

  14. Object Number: 167710 Size: SH
