The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

A condition has been identified by Engineering that after you replace the BCM (for any reason) the DRL's will be inoperative. It's been identified that Tech 2 software versions 27.007 through 28.005 will turn off the DRL's during BCM programming.

Recommendation/Instructions:

First you need to verify the DRL's are inoperative and turned off by programming with old Tech 2 software. One way to do this would be check the BCM for codes. You will normally get a condition of DRLs Inop and U2111 code set in IBCM. If not, root cause DRL's off with service manual diagnostics.

Before the June 23, 2008 Tech 2 software release (version 28.006), when replacing the BCM, call TCSC (800) 828-6860 to get a VCI number and the utility file to set-up the replacement with the correct software (DRL's turned on).

Important: The new Tech 2 software (version 28.006) that will correct this issue will be available on June 23, 2008.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
