Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1714714 Size: MH

    Note: The folding top will be required to be supported.

  1. Remove the front folding top cover retainer (1). Refer to Folding Top Cover Number 1 Bow Retainer Replacement.
  2. Remove the left and right side front weatherstrips. Refer to Folding Top Side Front Weatherstrip Replacement.
  3. Remove the left and right side front weatherstrip retainers. Refer to Folding Top Side Front Weatherstrip Retainer Replacement.

    4. Note: The folding top cover retainer flap is glued to the front side rail.

  4. Fold back the front and the side edges of the folding top cover by releasing the retaining strip to expose the number 4 bow.
  5. Drill out the rivets and P-clips from the retainer straps and cable.
  6. Reposition the retainer straps and cable from the number 4 bow (4).
  7. Remove the extrusion from the number 4 bow.
  8. Mark the position of the number 4 bow to the lower links.
  9. Remove the screws (3) from the number 4 bow.
  10. Remove the number 4 bow from the folding top.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1714714 Size: MH
  1. Position the number 4 bow (4) to the alignment marks on the lower links.

    2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  2. Install the screws (3) to the number 4 bow.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  3. Reposition the P-clips, retainer straps and cable the number 4 bow.
  4. Rivet the P-clips and the retainer straps and cable to the number 4 bow.
  5. Install the extrusion to the number 4 bow, pressing into place.

    6. Note: The old adhesive must be removed and follow the manufacture directions for the new adhesive.

  6. Reposition the folding top cover retainer strips to the front bow and side edge of the folding top to the side rails. Use 3M™ trim glue or equivalent.
  7. Install the front folding top cover retainer (1). Refer to Folding Top Cover Number 1 Bow Retainer Replacement.
  8. Install the left and right side front weatherstrip retainers. Refer to Folding Top Side Front Weatherstrip Retainer Replacement.
  9. Install the left and right side front weatherstrips. Refer to Folding Top Side Front Weatherstrip Replacement.
  10. Inspect the folding top for proper fit and operation. Refer to Folding Top Adjustment.
