Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the instrument panel left closeout/insulator panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the clutch pedal position sensor.

  3. Object Number: 1990336  Size: SH
  4. Remove the clutch master cylinder push rod retainer (2) from the clutch pedal arm integral stud.
  5. Remove the clutch master cylinder push rod (1) from the clutch pedal arm integral stud.

  6. Object Number: 1607173  Size: SH
  7. Remove the clutch pedal bracket to cowl nut (5).
  8. Remove the clutch pedal bracket to cowl bolt (4).
  9. Remove the clutch pedal bracket to cowl nuts (2).
  10. Remove the clutch pedal assembly (1).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1607173  Size: SH
  1. Install the clutch pedal assembly (1).
  2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Install the clutch pedal bracket to cowl nuts (2).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 10 N·m (89 in lb).

  5. Install the clutch pedal bracket to cowl bolt (4).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  7. Install the clutch pedal bracket to cowl nut (5).
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  9. Install the clutch master cylinder push rod (1) to the clutch pedal arm integral stud.
  10. Install the clutch master cylinder push rod retainer (2) to the clutch pedal arm integral stud.
  11. Connect the electrical connector to the clutch pedal position sensor.
  12. Install the instrument panel left closeout/insulator panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side.
  13. Warning: Replacement or reprogramming of the ECM, or replacement of the clutch pedal position sensor (CPPS) or clutch pedal requires that a CPPS learn procedure be performed. Failure to perform the CPPS learn procedure may result in personal injury or damage to the vehicle or its components if the vehicle is in gear and the starter motor is accidentally engaged.

  14. Perform the clutch pedal position sensor learn procedure. Refer to Clutch Pedal Position Sensor Learn.
