    Important: Completely inspect the turbocharger and all other engine components that may cause similar conditions before replacing the turbocharger. Refer to Symptoms - Engine Mechanical.

  1. Clean all mating surfaces.
  2. Inspect all threaded holes for damage.
  3. Inspect the wastegate actuator rod for damage.
  4. Inspect the compressor and turbine blades for damage or foreign material.
  5. Clean the turbocharger inlet mating surfaces.
  6. Inspect the turbocharger inlet mating surfaces for damage. Replace the turbocharger if damage is found.
  7. Inspect the turbocharger wastegate regulator solenoid hoses for damage. Replace the hoses if necessary.

  9. Inspect the turbocharger wastegate regulator solenoid valve assembly and bracket. Replace if necessary.

  10. Object Number: 1985562  Size: SH
  11. Inspect the turbocharger air bypass diaphragm assembly, valve cover, and valve spring. Replace if necessary.

  12. Object Number: 1826800  Size: SH

    Important: Do not remove the PCV hose from the fitting as damage to the hose will occur.

  13. Inspect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) O-ring for damage. Replace the O-ring if damaged or leaking.
  14. Inspect the PCV hose and PCV fitting for damage. Replace the camshaft cover if damage to the PCV hose or fitting is present.
