  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Identification Views .
  2. Remove the steering wheel SIR module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement .

Steering Wheel Nut

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

Tighten
40 N·m (30 lb ft)

Steering Wheel

Tip

    • Use J 1859-A Steering Wheel Puller and J 36541-A Steering Wheel Puller Legs to remove the steering wheel.
    • Ensure the adapter legs face AWAY from the center hub of the wheel.
    • If needed, use a screwdriver or other suitable tool to shim the gap between the steering wheel hub and the adapter legs. Ensure the legs are perpendicular to the wheel.
