Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1534962  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Remove the drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement - Supercharger .
  3. Remove the underhood junction block. Refer to Underhood Electrical Center or Junction Block Bracket Replacement .
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the camshaft position (CMP) sensor.
  5. Remove the CMP sensor studs.
  6. Remove the CMP sensor.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1534963  Size: SH
  1. Rotate the crankshaft until number 4 piston is at top dead center (TDC) on the compression stroke.
  2. Refer to the crankshaft damper-to-front-cover timing marks.

  3. Install the NEW camshaft position sensor housing seal.

  4. Object Number: 1534965  Size: SH
  5. Align the timing mark on the housing with the timing mark on the hex shaft.

  6. Object Number: 1534962  Size: SH
  7. Install the camshaft position sensor housing.
  8. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  9. Install the camshaft position sensor housing studs.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the studs to 22 N·m (16 lb ft).

  11. Install the underhood junction block. Refer to Underhood Electrical Center or Junction Block Bracket Replacement .
  12. Install the drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement - Supercharger .
  13. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
