  1. Assemble the camshaft cover and NEW gasket. Ensure that the gasket is located in the retaining groove in the camshaft cover.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the cover on the cylinder head and hand start the bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the camshaft cover bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Install the front lift bracket and bolt.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the front lift bracket bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  7. Install the rear lift bracket and bolts.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the rear lift bracket bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  9. Install the ground strap and bolt.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the camshaft cover ground strap bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  11. Install the spark plugs.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the spark plugs to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  13. Install the ignition coil and module assembly to the cam cover.
  14. Install the cam cover bolts.
  15. Tighten
    Tighten the ignition coil and module assembly bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  16. Install the power steering pump and bolts.
  17. Tighten
    Tighten the power steering pump bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
