DIESEL CRUISE CONTROL TRANSDUCER SERVICE CENTERS

INOPERATIVE AC DIESEL CRUISE CONTROL TRANSDUCERS SHOULD NOW BE FIELD SERVICED BY THE AUTHORIZED AC-DELCO DIESEL TRANSDUCER SERVICE CENTERS LISTED IN THIS BULLETIN. THESE CENTERS HAVE SPECIALIZED EQUIPMENT WHICH WILL ALLOW THEM TO TEST THE OPERATION OF EACH DIESEL TRANSDUCER THEY SERVICE. YOU SHOULD CONTINUE TO SEND YOUR AC GASOLINE TRANSDUCERS TO THE AUTHORIZED GASOLINE TRANSDUCER SERVICE CENTERS LISTED IN YOUR AC-DELCO SD-2 SERVICE DIRECTORY. HOWEVER, ONLY THOSE CENTERS LISTED IN THIS BULLETIN ARE AUTHORIZED TO SERVICE THE DIESEL UNITS. DUE TO THE CRITICAL TOLERANCES THAT MUST BE MAINTAINED IN BOTH THE DIESEL AND GASOLINE TRANSDUCERS YOUR DEALERSHIP MUST UTILIZE ONLY AUTHORIZED AC-DELCO SERVICE CENTERS FOR DETACHED UNIT REPAIR OF THESE PRODUCTS. ALL TRANSDUCERS RETURNED FOR REPAIRS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY THE RESUME VALVE (IF SO EQUIPPED), AS THESE COMPONENTS ARE TESTED AS AN ASSEMBLY.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
