The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Vehicle may exhibit a noise in any Range while moving but gone when the vehicle in gear with vehicle not moving. This may be caused by an improperly polished roller bearing in the drive sprocket support.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Inspect the drive sprocket # 521 inner bearing for spalling or any damaged bearing roller. Rotation and inspection of individual roller bearing(s) may be required.
Replace the drive sprocket support if the bearing is found to be spalled. Inspect the inner race of the drive gear, if the bearing surface is scored, replace the gear.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
